CASE: the case with silvered wood vase finials to the caddy top, with pierced sound frets, silvered capitals to the three-quarter columns, the stepped plinth raised on later pad feet DIAL: 7 ½ inch square dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, fleur-de-lis half-hour markers, cross quarter-hour markers, the matted centre with ringed winding holes and date aperture, pierced blued steel hands, winged cherub head spandrels and foliate engraved border, strike/no strike lever ‘Non Suona / Suona’. signed to lower edge ‘Chr. Gould Londini fecit’ MOVEMENT: the plates joined by five ringed pillars, the twin train movement with recoil anchor escapement, internal rack strike, hour strike on bell and pull repeat on five bells
