With an 82 cm slender, tapering and pointed blade with partial fuller, marked with a VR cypher to both sides, and initials 'R H H', marked to the ricasso for Landon & Co New Burlington St. With a broad guard with VR monogram beneath a crown, with wire bound shagreen grip, and short sword knot. In a steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 100 cm overall. RHH is for Lt Col. Robert Halstead Hargreaves (1860 - 1909) of Knightley Grange (Knightley Court) in Eccleshall in Staffordshire who resigned his commission in 1904 as Major, Honurary Lt Colonel.
