Above It All - Newel Hunter

Above It All by Newel Hunter Painting 16.0 x 20.0 :: “Above It All” features a dense composition predominantly in dark tones with a rich interplay of black gray and white shades. The texture is highly tactile with thick layered brushstrokes creating a sense of depth and complexity. Areas of contrasting light and dark coexist dynamically with the white streaks creating striking highlights against the deep blacks. Hints of subtle brownish hues emerge adding warmth to the otherwise monochromatic palette. The brushwork varies between smooth sweeping motions and rough impasto-like applications contributing to a dramatic and almost chaotic visual rhythm. This piece evokes a raw intense emotional atmosphere through its abstract and somewhat enigmatic presentation. The mystery in this composition allows viewers to interpret the piece through their own emotional lens which is a powerful aspect of Hunter’s art. Above It All is painted with acrylic on an 16 x 20 inch canvas panel professionally finished and ready to frame.
