Adri Q - XL - Atardecer Rosado

Adri Q is a young Afro-Cuban artist born in Cuba who currently resides and works in Alicante, Spain, living and working in El Campello, Alicante, whose painting arises from the meeting between illustration, geometry and a deeply contemporary sensibility. Through acrylic on canvas, she has developed a recognizable visual language, characterized by the use of intense colors, flat surfaces, geometric structures, and a rich succession of graphic patterns that turn each composition into a dynamic and easily identifiable universe. Her work moves freely between figuration and abstraction. At times it starts from recognizable scenes — musicians, women, dancers, Mediterranean landscapes, animals or characters belonging to the collective imagination — only to fragment them and reconstruct them through color blocks, visual rhythms and decorative elements. In others, geometry takes on greater prominence and the figure seems to emerge from the very structure of color. One of the most interesting features of her work is precisely that ability to maintain a constant identity within a very broad theme. The Mediterranean, music, nature, literature, fantasy and daily life coexist within the same plastic universe. Her scenes can be intimate, playful or contemplative, but almost always retain a sense of optimism, movement and luminosity. Color does not function merely as a decorative element: it is one of the main emotional drivers of her painting. Deep blues, reds, yellows, purples, and turquoises combine through direct contrasts and clearly delineated surfaces, creating compositions of strong visual impact. In her musical works, for example, geometry seems to become rhythm; in her Mediterranean landscapes, it becomes light; and in the fantastical scenes, it becomes a doorway to an imaginary world. The works currently circulating on Catawiki also show a good reception within the accessible contemporary art market. Her compositions have been selected by different experts on the platform, and pieces with themes as diverse as jazz, Mediterranean scenes or fantastical figures maintain a visually recognizable identity. That progressive recognition is especially interesting in an artist who is still building her career. Collecting her work means approaching a young language, decoratively powerful and already sufficiently defined to distinguish itself with ease: a quality particularly valuable in a contemporary scene where developing an own voice is one of the greatest challenges for any emerging artist. Adri Q builds, ultimately, a cheerful, sophisticated and slightly magical pictorial world: a place where everyday reality can be transformed into geometry, music, fantasy and color. Please consult the original photographs to verify the actual condition of the work.” This acrylic on canvas work adheres to a vibrant Neo-pop and Fauvist style, characterized by bold use of a warm palette featuring fuchsia, pink, orange and cobalt blue. The scene frames, through a window with trees and decorative elements, the silhouette of a white-and-black cat seated with its back to the viewer, contemplating an idyllic Mediterranean coastal landscape lit by a radiant sun. With a rich diversity of geometric patterns and textures applied to loose brushstrokes, the composition perfectly balances the warmth of the interior with the serenity of the horizon, evoking a profound sense of calm and inner contemplation."
