Authentic Handwoven Afghan Herat Kilim – 190 x 155 cm – With Certificate of Authenticity Description Overview: Offered is a gorgeous, authentic handwoven Afghan Herat kilim rug from the renowned "The Pelma Collection". This flatwoven rug has a powerful, tribal look with a bold design of stepped diamond medallions. The geometric motifs are rendered in a rich, traditional color palette of deep brick red, indigo blue, charcoal black, forest green, and cream-white accents. Origin & Authenticity: This piece bears the original, officially numbered Certificate of Authenticity on the back (Certificate No. 132375). The certificate explicitly states the origin as a handmade "Herat Kilim", originating from the historic weaving center Herat in Afghanistan. The rug was imported into Europe at the time via The Pelma Collection’s specialized import network. Design & Special Features: Motifs: Classic tribal patterns from Herat with the distinctive geometric stair-step diamonds and stylized traditional symbols (animals/amulets) that breathe a rich cultural history. Finish: Professionally fitted with sturdy leather protective strips (leather edge finish) sewn along the back edges. This high-quality addition prevents curling, protects the edges, and ensures the rug does not slide on smooth floors. Fringes: Nicely finished with neat, braided cotton/wool fringes at the ends. Technical Specifications: Type: Herat Kilim (Flatwoven / Kilim) Origin: Herat, Afghanistan Curator/Importer: The Pelma Collection (Belgium) Registered Certificate No: 132375 Material: 100% High-Quality Natural Wool on a wool/cotton warp Dimensions: 190 x 155 cm (approx. 2.95 m²) Condition: Excellent condition.
