An authentic, traditional Namji (Dowayo) fertility doll from Cameroon, dating to the mid-to-late 20th century. This exceptional piece of tribal folk art features a hand-carved solid hardwood head with minimalist, stylized facial features, inlaid eyes, and original metal earrings. The body is densely wrapped in multiple rows of genuine, old/vintage glass beads, displaying beautiful age-appropriate patina and characteristic antique texture. It is further adorned with a prominent waistband made of traditional cowrie shells, which historically symbolize wealth and fertility in West African cultures. The doll is securely mounted on a modern, clear plexiglass display stand and is ready for exhibition. It is in absolute mint/excellent condition, with the historic beadwork and shells completely intact. Dimensions: Height: 54 cm Width: 10 cm Depth: 10 cm Weight: 1200 g
