Aklama Fetish - Adan, Adangbé - Ghana (No reserve price)

Grand Vaudou Altar Fetish "Aklama" Adan Ghana 18.5 cm Bibliography; "Aklama, Helping spirits of the Ewe and Dangme People from the Study collection of Horst Antes". The Aklama fetishes are ritual objects of Voodoo worship used by the Ewe and Dangme of Ghana, at the edge of Togo. They are usually materialized by small figures, animals, everyday objects, or seats, in lightweight wood. These statuettes are charged to intercede with the various deities called upon to grant believers protection, luck and prosperity throughout their personal and family lives as well as in their daily activities (hunting, commerce). These Ade statuettes represent the various deities tied to hunting, which are also common to the Yoruba and Ewe. Regarding their use, these objects are found on individual altars, but we have already seen photos depicting them gathered in a basket and clothed in a piece of cloth, in the manner of the Ewé Vinavi.
