ALBERTO GIACOMETTI Alberto Giacometti. Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Fondation Maeght, 1978. Oblong In-4, paperback, cover illustrated with a sculpture by Giacometti; front cover slightly rubbed, back cover showing some foxing and signs of wear. Important catalog of the Alberto Giacometti exhibition held at the Maeght Foundation, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, from July 8 to September 30, 1978. Extensive black-and-white and color illustrations of the artist’s sculptures, paintings, and drawings, tracing the evolution of his work from his Surrealist explorations of the 1930s to the famous slender figures of his mature period. Notably reproduced are *Woman Walking* (1932–1934), *The Invisible Object* (1934–1935), and sculptures from the subsequent period. A sought-after catalog from one of the major Giacometti exhibitions organized by the Maeght Foundation. A good copy despite the noted flaws.
