An oil painting on panel, refined and intimate, dating from the mid-twentieth century and by the Florentine master Aldo Augusto Baccinetti (1903–1990). The work splendidly captures the timeless essence of the Italian lakes, focusing on a rustic architectural scene in Baveno overlooking the unspoiled landscapes that surround Lake Maggiore. Baccinetti’s brushstroke is confident, vibrant, and deeply rooted in the Tuscan post-impressionist tradition. The composition balances the warm tones of Mediterranean terracotta roofs with the fresh, layered geometry of the Prealps in the background. The play of light and the lush vegetation give this small-format work atmospheric and spatial depth that instantly transports the viewer to a tranquil Italian afternoon. Aldo Augusto Baccinetti (Florence, 1903 – Milan, 1990): academic lecturer, painter, and master printmaker, who regularly exhibited in the major national art shows from the 1920s to the 1950s. - Authenticity and signatures: Hand-signed by the master in the lower right corner. On the back there is an authentic handwritten inscription by the artist noting the qualification ("Pittore Prof."), the full name, the address of the Florentine studio (Via G. D'Annunzio 8, Florence) and the precise subject location (Baveno - Lake Maggiore). - Frame: Set in its fine original Italian wooden frame from the mid-twentieth century, characterized by an elegant gold leaf finish and a fabric matte pass-partout. The frame perfectly complements the artwork, enhancing its classical charm and visual presence. State of conservation The artwork is in excellent condition, showing a fine *craquelure* and intact color vibrancy. The original period frame is solid and shows mild, natural signs of aging that add to its historic character and prestige. Dimensions of the painting: 26 x 22.5 cm. The frame is a courteous homage to the purchaser. The lot will be carefully packed and shipped with carrier partners and tracked online.
