Elegant cheese server model 5071 designed in 1978 by ETTORE SOTTSASS and produced by Alessi The 5071 cheese server is a classic in the Alessi catalog. Made of 18/10 stainless steel. Ettore Sottsass succeeded in the difficult task of designing a practical and essential object, to complete what he defined as a 'beautiful table'. The cheese server is handy, extremely functional, and easy to clean: all essential ingredients for a timeless object. It consists of a base and a hinged, polished 18/10 stainless steel lid paired with an inner container in crystal-clear glass. Originally conceived mainly as a container for grated Parmesan, due to its elegance and practicality it is often used also as a sugar shaker or spice holder. Excellent condition. Marked on the bottom as in the photographs.
