Hand-painted porcelain figure that is part of the set of four small porcelain figures called: Le Fiabe: "Cappuccetto Rosso", this one belongs to the figure "La Nonna" AMGI41SET, designed by Massimo Giacon and LPWK (Laura Polinoro Workshop) and produced by Alessi in 2013. The Le Fiabe (Fairy Tales) series is intended for adults who fondly remember their childhood as well as for children who love portraying characters from well-known stories. The red-cloaked girl (“Cappuccetto Rosso”), the smiling wolf (“Il Lupo”), the grandmother (“La Nonna”) and the hunter (“Il Cacciatore”) are, of course, characters from the famous tale of Little Red Riding Hood, the first story represented in the designs of this magical collection. The four small hand-painted porcelain figurines presented here have been created in the designer’s characteristic style. Massimo Giacon’s attention to humor, as well as to detail and meticulous finish of his small works of art, makes them the perfect gift for children, collectors, and followers of the Alessi brand. Once upon a time there was a girl named Red Riding Hood, a very sweet little girl who wore a red velvet hooded cape. One day, her mother asked her to bring wine and focaccia to her sick grandmother who lived in the woods. She warned her not to stray from the path, but upon entering the forest, Little Red Riding Hood met the wolf and began talking to him, telling him where her grandmother lived. The wolf ran to the grandmother’s house, swallowed her whole, and put on her clothes. Then he lay in bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood to arrive. When the girl entered her grandmother’s house, she did not recognize the wolf in disguise. Without hesitation, the wolf jumped from the bed and ate the girl; then he returned to bed and started snoring. A wolf hunter happened to be passing by. Curious, he approached. Seeing the wolf, he understood that he had eaten the grandmother, so he killed the animal and unzipped its belly. From inside, the grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood emerged, safe and sound. Measurements: 3 cm x 3 cm - h 5 cm Massimo Giacón, born in Padua, Italy, in 1961, is a comics artist and illustrator, a benchmark in the renewal of Italian comics, who divides his time as a graphic designer, designer, musician, and artist. LPWK, designer of metaprojects, Laura Polinoro graduated in DAMS in Bologna. In 1989 she wrote “L’officina Alessi. Alberto Alessi and Alessandro Mendini: ten years of projects, 1980-1990”. In 1990, with Alberto Alessi and Alessandro Mendini, she founded the Alessi Studies Center (CSA), a place of experimentation that involves professionals and young creatives from various disciplines. There she conducted workshops and created innovative collections proposing the concept of metaproject. Since 2000 she has continued her collaboration by founding and directing the LPWK Design Studio.
