Alessi - Franco Sargiani & Eija Helander - Table service...

Alessi - Table Service Modular Model "Programma 8" (13 Pieces in total) - Franco Sargiani & Eija Helander - 1970s Description / Description Lot consisting of a complete set of coordinated elements belonging to the famous modular series "Programma 8", designed by architects Franco Sargiani and Eija Helander for Alessi in 1970. Based on the theory of metaprojecting for an open system and on a rigorous geometric grid, this historic service allows freely combining, placing side by side, and interlocking the individual components according to dining needs. The metal components are in 18/10 stainless steel (mirror-polished and satin finishes); the transparent elements are in heavy crystal. Many pieces retain the original gold sticker "Alessi - Made in Italy". Composition of the lot and precise dimensions: N. 1 Large rectangular service tray: 53 x 30 cm. N. 1 Medium rectangular service tray: 38 x 23 cm. N. 3 Modular steel containers for appetizers: 30 x 7.5 cm each. N. 3 Removable inner crystal trays: sized for a 30 x 7.5 cm housing. N. 1 Condiment Menage set consisting of 4 elements: Rectangular steel base (22.5 x 7.5 cm) with original black thermoplastic insert (three custom compartments, logo impressed on the back). Oil cruet in heavy crystal with airtight steel cap. Cylindrical salt shaker in crystal with perforated steel cap. Cylindrical pepper grinder in crystal with perforated steel cap. Note: The set is structurally complete and intact as originally conceived in the catalog (it naturally comes with 3 cruets, with no missing parts). N. 1 Additional cylindrical pepper/salt mill: Entirely in 18/10 stainless steel with an internal metal mechanism, black adjustment knob, and interlocking protective cap. Dimensions: height 13 cm, diameter 5.5 cm. Condition and photographic notes on the finish:The set presents overall good vintage condition, solid and free from deformations or chips in the crystal. Metal surfaces: the large tray shows some light scratches from use and rubbing (particularly on the inner serving mirror). The mirror-polished finish is strongly affected by ambient lighting during photography; the dark reflections, shadows, or partial opacity visible in the images are due solely to the reflection of the surrounding environment on the shiny metal and are not due to defects or permanent stains. All trademarks are properly stamped or embossed on the back or bottom of the respective elements (see photos for details of the stamps and labels).
