Alessi - Naoto Fukasawa & Samiro Yunoki - Plate (3)...

This "Itsumo Pet" Yunoki Ware set celebrates the relationship between people and pets through objects that combine functionality, aesthetics, and sentimental value, designed by Naoto Fukasawa for Alessi. This series was developed with the advice of Amelia Valletta, founder of The HAD – Human Animal Design, and stems from the desire to design shared spaces that respect the needs of both humans and animals, transforming mealtimes into a small gesture of care and belonging. This set includes a water bowl and a food bowl for dogs, together with a matching non-slip feeding mat. When designing the bowl, Naoto Fukasawa started from an archetypal, instantly recognisable shape, reinterpreting details to improve its functionality, such as two openings at the base that allow the bowl to be lifted easily without touching the interior. The water and food bowls share the same diameter but differ in depth and decoration, making their function immediately recognisable at a glance. The bowls are beautifully decorated with a pattern created by Japanese textile artist Samiro Yunoki, in a blue hue that falls within the visual spectrum of dogs and cats, making it not only aesthetically pleasing to the human eye but also a meeting point with animal perception. Crafted from durable white porcelain, the bowls are scratch- and mould-resistant, ensuring impeccable hygiene and keeping the temperature of their contents stable for longer. Underneath the bowls sits a soft, non-slip silicone mat, which keeps the bowls securely in place, protects the floor, and defines a recognizable, reassuring spot for mealtime. The mat is particularly hardwearing, can be washed and reused many times, and does not shed microplastics with use. Dimensions: Water bowl: Ø 18 cm, H 6.2 cm, capacity 55 cl Food bowl: Ø 18 cm, H 6.2 cm, capacity 40 cl Feeding mat: 49 x 27 cm This set is in brand-new, unused condition and comes complete with its original Alessi packaging. Both the bowls and the mat are dishwasher safe. The designer: Naoto Fukasawa is a Japanese product designer. Fukasawa collaborates with world- leading companies and brands. He also works as a consultant for major international manufacturers. Winner of numerous awards, including the 2018 Isamu Noguchi Award. He published a few books, the recent one is 'Naoto Fukasawa EMBODIMENT' (PHAIDON). Since 2012, he is the Director of Nihon Mingei-kan (The Japan Folk Crafts Museum).
