ot your doll - 40 (n.746) The measurements are: - collage: 50,00 x 40,00 cm Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces created. On these little pieces of paper you can read words and phrases scattered here and there. Often it happens when we really approach another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not. "Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent the faces of women with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll, and you can do what you want with me" with everything that lies behind, up to, unfortunately, violence. The surface features small reliefs and I like to caress it, feel it... I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust. This work is unique and original. Each work is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipment worldwide, with the Certificate of Authenticity included. A tracking number is provided for the shipment. This work will be shipped unframed and without stretcher as the piece will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions as the larger surface will be useful and necessary to be able to stretch the canvas on a frame. It is advisable to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise you on a possible and appropriate frame. After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long stop of almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I returned to the "two dimensions" for time and space reasons, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real. For me painting is "to lock time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subject of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that - over time - grow on the surface. Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable by touch and to the naked eye. Recently, after several years in which my works were made from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am venturing into Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical precision that, when viewed up close, seem to form an abstract colorful painting but the more you move away the more a figure portrayed by the many painted wooden discs emerges. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to denounce the fact that they are not their partner's dolls and they cannot be mistreated or worse, victims of violence.
