Alexandre Petrus (1988) - YOUNG SANGOKU

ABOUT THE ARTWORK “Young Sangoku” captures the energy, determination, and fighting spirit of one of manga’s most iconic young heroes. Shown in a dynamic forward motion, the character seems to burst out of the canvas, with clenched fist, intense expression, and flying tail reinforcing the sense of action and momentum. The composition immediately conveys courage, movement, and the fearless attitude of youth. The fiery red and orange background strengthens the power of the scene and gives the artwork a vibrant, explosive presence. Combined with the sharp contrast of the stencil work, it creates a bold visual impact that makes the piece instantly stand out. A strong and energetic artwork for collectors drawn to manga culture, action-driven compositions, and subjects that embody strength, ambition, and determination. ABOUT THE ARTIST Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist with a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity. His signature technique — the hand-cut double-layer stencil — separates light and shadow into two distinct stencils, layered onto a spontaneous, hand-painted abstract background. The result is a striking visual language where each subject emerges with strength, clarity, and presence. His work moves between mythology, pop culture, wildlife, and symbolic scenes inspired by childhood, freedom, and human emotion. Whatever the theme, the approach remains the same: precision in the stencil, freedom in the background, and a constant search for contrast, impact, and emotion. Each artwork is a unique original. No prints, no identical editions: every background is painted individually by hand, making each piece distinct. The small smiling “AP” monogram visible on the artwork is the artist’s signature — Alexandre Petrus’s initials merged into a face — sprayed onto every original piece.
