An exceptional original work, of museum quality, realized in oil on sturdy carton/board by the famous Italian modern master Alfio Paolo Graziani (1900–1981). Acclaimed by mid-20th-century art critics as the "Prince of flowers and still lifes", Graziani studied at the prestigious Brera Academy in Milan under legendary masters such as Cesare Tallone and Ambrogio Alciati, later exhibiting at the renowned Venice Biennale. This magnificent painting represents the apex of Graziani's technical mastery. The composition is a rich and opulent celebration of the autumn harvest: prominent is a sturdy interwoven basket overflowing with white and black grapes, crisp apples, and split pomegranates revealing their gleaming seeds. In the center, a glazed ceramic plate welcomes a plentiful portion of freshly gathered porcini mushrooms, rendered with perfect texture that enhances their earthy nature. The play of light is extraordinary: a delicate chiaroscuro defines the dark and suggestive background, allowing the deep, glossy emerald-green of the large vase and the vivid colors of the fruit to emerge with a three-dimensional, almost hyperreal presence. The choice of oil on panel enables an extremely fine and precise brushwork, capable of capturing meticulous textures with absolute mastery. The frame, monumental and gilded with relief-worked corners, provides a valuable addition to the painting and is to be regarded as a courteous homage to the buyer. Signature present and clearly legible "A. Graziani" at bottom left. Inner dimensions of the painting: 70 cm x 100 cm. The lot will be appropriately packed and shipped with contracted couriers and online tracking. For this lot, shipments outside the European Community are not available.
