Alfred Boode (1842–1910) was a German painter who is best known for his classical paintings. He painted, among other things, figurative scenes, landscapes, and historical or everyday subjects (such as soldiers or clerics). Gaston Alexandre Auguste, marquis de Galliffet (1830–1909) was a prominent and controversial French general and politician. He is mainly known in history for his heavy-handed actions against the insurgents of the Paris Commune in 1871.
