The present portrait depicts Ernest Bradd, falconer to the 8th Baron Howard de Walden, standing in front of Chirk Castle with his Peregrine Falcon, 'Ruby'. Tommy Scott-Ellis, 8th Baron Howard de Walden (1880-1946) leased Chirk Castle from 1911, until he retired to his Scottish estates in 1946, shortly before his death.
