All auctions / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Alla maniera di Haig Patigian (1876-1950) - Sculpture

Fascinating series consisting of four circular plaques cast in bronze, characterized by refined high and low relief modeling. The works explore the iconography of the sea through a fusion of natural reality and classical myth, typical of the Symbolist taste of the early 20th century. The iconographic cycle includes: The Sea Unicorn: A dynamic representation of the untamed force of the waters. The Nymph of the Waves: A female figure who emerges gracefully from the sea foam (Nereid). The Ship's Bow: A frontal view of an ancient vessel, symbol of travel and exploration. The Shell and the Abyss: A sculptural study of the organic forms and the motion of the waves. Technical Details Material: Bronze with an original brown patina and natural greenish nuances. Period: Early 20th century (circa 1910-1930). Style: Liberty / Art Deco. Technique: Lost-wax or sand-casting with chasing finish. Condition: Excellent original condition. They display a magnificent patina of time that enhances their tridimensionality. No structural defects or restorations detected.
