ALPINO, RARE INTENSE VESUVIAN GREEN

From our selection of collectible minerals we propose a rare group of Vesuvian crystals from Montjovet, Valle d'Aosta. Moreover, it is characterized by numerous prismatic crystals of deep green color, well developed and densely arranged on matrix, with sharp faces and good vitreous luster, which enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical significance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that exalt its natural structure and visual impact. Vesuvian, also known as Idocrase, owes its name to Vesuvius, where it was first described by Werner in 1795 on calcareous blocks expelled from the volcano. The green color is due to traces of iron in the crystal structure, while its formation is typical of skarn rocks and metamorphosed calcium carbonates at contact. The Western Alps, such as the Montjovet area in Valle d'Aosta, are known for Alpine mineralizations in which Vesuvian is found associated with chlorites and diopside. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always indicated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
