AMA • Pope (1985) - aMen - McDonald's

AMA • Pope (1985) - "aMen" - McDonald's - 4/20 Complete your Pop Art collection with this hand-painted and custom-made figurine themed around McDonald's (this is not an official brand object) in a limited edition of only 20 copies for 2025. "aMen" humorously and irreverently reinterprets the codes of religious iconography to confront them with one of the most universal religions of the 21st century: consumption. In this work, the Virgin no longer distributes blessings and miracles, but presents to the faithful the true objects of worship of our era: two Big Macs, instantly recognizable symbols of mass culture. Between devotion, marketing and social satire, "aMen" questions our relationship to brands, to modern rituals, and to the new forms of adoration that pace our daily lives. At the boundary between contemporary art, popular culture and offbeat humor, this piece leaves no one indifferent and immediately sparks discussion. The numbering visible in the photos is shown as an example. The work delivered will bear the edition number indicated in this listing. Signed limited edition artwork, dated, numbered and delivered with certificate of authenticity. Shipping is fast and careful (bubble wrap, tissue paper and cardboard) with signature on delivery. Sculpture made for commercial purposes, hand-retouched by the artist Pope using a premium polymer vinyl customization technique, including graphic design, precision cutting, meticulous positioning and fully manual application of the visual elements. Who is Pope? Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice in the visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research. Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wonder-filled gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him. Pope primarily draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few. Whether as a gift, a keepsake, or part of your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find a favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited edition or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, products of the agri-food and fashion industries (sports, sneakers…), brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope enjoys playfully distancing labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more. Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to assess the lot for sale is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos...
