AMA • Pope (1985) - Aurora LidlLuxury - LIDL

AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora LidlLuxury" - Lidl - 9/20 When hard discount becomes a luxury icon. Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Fake, Aurora Authentic Fake... AMA continues its ironic exploration of the codes of contemporary consumption with a new luminous creation, as disturbing as it is seductive. "Aurora LidlLuxury" – LIVE POOR / BE RICH turns the popular discount imagination into an object of desirable, chromed, luminous, almost sacred art. A stark black-on-wood contrast between social reality and the fantasy of wealth: LIVE POOR on one side, BE RICH on the other. A simple, brutal, universal slogan. By day: a chrome teddy bear drawn from the hard discount imagination. By night: a multicolored aurora borealis blazing through the space. A brutal contrast between imposed consumption and the desire for luxury. Edition limited to 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity. Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery. Features: - 7 luminous colors - 3 diffusion modes (static, fades, simple transitions) - Power: USB cord with switch (supplied) - Height: 20 cm - Width: 9 cm - Depth: 9 cm A luminous sculpture comprising a resin pedestal and a transparent synthetic rigid glass-like teddy bear, commercially manufactured and personalized, finished by hand by the artist Pope using a manual application technique of premium polymer vinyl. The work personally carried out by the artist includes graphic design, adapting the visual to the sculpture’s shapes, precise vinyl cutting, and the positioning and manual application of each element. Each copy of this edition is individually customized and hand-finished by the artist Pope. The limited edition applies exclusively to the graphic customization and artistic finishing carried out by the artist Pope, and not to the base commercially manufactured luminous sculpture. Who is Pope? Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a distinctive artistic universe powered by a lifelong practice of the visual arts, a high standard of detail, and meticulous visual research. Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both simplicity and the complexity of the world around him. Pope primarily draws inspiration from the world around him but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few. Whether as a gift, a memento, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (limited or not), tackling a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury and high fashion brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, agro-food and fashion products (sport, sneakers...). Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope enjoys playfully diverting labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more. Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort so that all information necessary to assess the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unfounded claims will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
