Amba - Relief glazed ceramic plaque - Madonna - 25.5 x...

Splendid and refined rectangular ceramic plaque formed by casting, with a bas-relief depiction of the Virgin Mary at the top, a superb example of Turin's excellent craftsmanship from the Art Deco period. The back clearly bears the factory mark of AMBA Torino (monogram inscribed in a diamond), a renowned Turin epigone that shared craftsmen, motifs, and techniques with the famous parent house Lenci. The work stands out for the gentle features of the face captured in a posture of deep contemplation, and for the vibrant chromatic contrast of the glossy blue glaze of the veil, enriched by a halo with a golden shading. The workmanship under the glaze testifies to the high technical and artistic level of Piedmontese production in the first half of the twentieth century. A magnificent and intact piece for any collection. • Manifattura: AMBA Torino (Epigono Lenci) • Marchio: Present on the back (impressed raw in the diamond) • Materiale: Terraglia forte smaltata in policromia • Epoca: Circa 1930 - 1940 • Stile: Art Déco / Arte Sacra Italiana del '900 Dimensioni e Peso • Altezza: 34,5 cm • Larghezza: 25,5 cm • Spessore massimo (incluso rilievo): Circa 4,5 cm • Spessore della base: Circa 2 cm
