Ammonite - Fossilised animal - Decorative Collection of 5...

Beautiful decorative composition featuring five genuine polished ammonite fossils (Cleoniceras, Aioloceras, Perisphinctes, and Phylloceras), individually mounted on an elegant multi-tiered black metal display stand. The group showcases a diverse selection of ammonites, including cut and polished specimens revealing intricate internal chambers and suture patterns, as well as whole shells displaying detailed ribbed exterior textures. Each specimen highlights its own distinct hues and mineralisation, ranging from rich golden-amber and warm honey tones to sleek slate-grey and silvery calcite formations, complemented by fine, deeply ribbed specimens. Ammonites were marine cephalopod molluscs that inhabited the world's oceans for hundreds of millions of years before becoming extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 66 million years ago. Their distinctive coiled shells featured internal chambers used to regulate buoyancy, creating the fascinating geometric patterns preserved in the stone today. The five specimens vary in size and texture, artfully arranged at staggered, graduated heights to create a harmonious and visually dynamic arrangement. The sleek, minimalist black display stand elevates each fossil, allowing their natural forms and rich organic colors to take center stage without distraction. A sophisticated display piece seamlessly blending natural history, palaeontology, and contemporary interior design—ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, executive desk, library, or living room focus piece.
