An Assorted Collection of 19th Century Stanhopes and other Optical Devices Second half of the 19th century to early 20th century, comprising: an umbrella shaped sewing needle case with a Stanhope of the Netherlands, a sewing needle case with goat finial plunger with a Stanhope of Germany, enameled sterling eggs with Easter themed Stanhopes, three Stanhope charms depicting Washington D.C., and France, a pair of miniature binoculars housing two Stanhopes from the St. Louis 1934/1904 Universal Exhibition, two tourist thimbles housing Stanhopes of Queen Victoria and Shakespeare's house, three Satin Spar examples depicting Niagara Falls, two plastic cross examples from churches, a miniature metal church with a Stanhope of the Ten Commandments, a toy measuring tape with a Stanhope from Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, a toy camera with rotating slides of Mary, and a Kaleidoscope mounted on a ring. Dimensions: from 1/2in to 5in in length. Condition Various states, all in generally good condition with some expected surface wear and signs of age.
