An outstanding and rare Korean War Immediate D.C.M. awarded to Sergeant D. A. McCuish, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, for gallantly leading his platoon in two bayonet attacks to dislodge the enemy from two hills leading to the capture of Point 152, in the vicinity of the Imjin River on 25 September 1952; twenty-five enemy dead, who had been killed by rifle, bayonet or grenade, were counted. McCuish’s subsequent fall from grace following the war seems to have led to the forfeiture of his campaign medals but not his D.C.M. which could only be withdrawn in cases of proven treason, leaving this award as his sole entitlement Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.VI.R. 2nd issue (H.800021 Sjt. D. A. McCuish. P.P.C.L.I.) mounted on original investiture pin as issued, extremely fine and extremely rare £8,000-£12,000.
