Analogue telephone - Plastic - Vintage PTT ATEA S65 / 829...

Rare Vintage PTT ATEA S65 / 829 Series Telephone – Design Icon from the 60s/70s A beautiful piece of industrial history for the true telecom collector or vintage lover! This is the iconic ATEA 829 series telephone (in the Netherlands supplied by PTT as the S65). Introduced in 1965 and manufactured by the renowned Belgian maker ATEA (Antwerp). This specific type was in the 60s and 70s the absolute king of the corporate interior and was exclusively used in executive offices, medical practices, and luxury administration offices. Why this lot is unique: What makes this device truly special is that it is not a standard home telephone, but an advanced switchboard unit. It features the original mechanical rotary dial, the distinctive angular handset (colloquially once called “the sandwich” because of its shape) and an impressive keypad board. With buttons A and B, two separate external lines could be managed, while the numbered buttons 1 through 10 were used for internal calling. The device exudes pure Mid-Century Modern office nostalgia and is a fantastic decorative piece for an industrial or retro interior.
