Re-strung terracotta bead necklace – Ancient Egypt Elegant necklace composed of numerous terracotta beads, from ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung to form a long strand of approximately 40 cm in length. The beads, small in size—approximately 4 to 10 mm—feature a characteristic discoidal and cylindrical shape, with slight irregularities typical of their handmade production. They retain an attractive range of natural tones, from ochres and sands to browns and darker earthy hues, creating a particularly harmonious overall effect. The matte surface, chromatic variations, and small signs of wear contribute to the piece a pronounced archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace allows appreciating the rhythmic succession of the beads and gives it a striking decorative effect, whether displayed in a vitrined case or presented on a stand. Cultural provenance: Ancient Egypt Material: Terracotta Total length: approx. 100 cm Diameter of the beads: approx. 4 mm Condition: consistent with its age, showing wear, deposits and tonal variations inherent to the material. A piece of intimate and evocative character, representative of the tradition of personal ornamentation in ancient Egypt, especially attractive for a collection of Mediterranean and Near Eastern archaeology.
