2 Terracotta bead necklaces, re-strung – Ancient Egypt Elegant necklace composed of numerous terracotta beads, from ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung together forming a long strand of approximately 100 cm in length. The beads, small in size—approximately 3–4 mm—feature a distinctive discoidal and cylindrical shape, with slight irregularities inherent to their hand-made manufacture. They retain an attractive range of natural hues, from ochres and sands to browns and darker earthy tones, creating a particularly harmonious ensemble. The matte surface, color variations, and small signs of wear give the ensemble a strong archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace allows one to appreciate the rhythmic sequence of the beads and gives it a striking decorative effect, whether displayed in a display case or mounted on a stand. Cultural origin: Ancient Egypt Material: Terracotta Total length: approx. 100 cm Bead diameter: approx. 4 mm Condition: as expected for its age, with wear, deposits and tonal variations inherent to the material. A piece of intimate and evocative character, representative of the tradition of personal adornment in ancient Egypt, especially appealing for a collection of Mediterranean and Eastern archaeology.
