Greek-style ceramic cup with ochre glaze Deep cup on a molded high foot, lip flat and adorned with brown circular bands, flared base The cup is entirely covered with an ochre-beige glaze. The lip is pierced by two holes that appear to be original. An old label mentions a discovery site in the necropolis of Vico Equense, near Naples Greater Greece, Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, 5th–4th century BC Very good preservation of the glaze and pigments. Excellent condition, intact piece, no restoration Diameter: 12.9 cm - height 9.8 cm Provenance: Germany, E.P.L. gallery Previous provenance history: former private collection from southern Germany acquired on the European art market in the 1990s.
