Ancient Near Eastern Lapis Lazuli Bead Necklace + Green Stone

Near East / Central Asia. A necklace strung with ancient lapis lazuli beads, alternating long cylindrical tubes with short disc beads in mottled blue and gray. At the center is a lozenge-shaped, semi-opaque pale green stone bead, flanked by two short lapis beads and two modern high-purity gold tube beads. The necklace closes with a modern hand-formed gold hook clasp with a coiled wire wrap. The gold clasp and accent beads are 90% to 92% gold, equivalent to about 21 to 22 karat. The necklace is restrung and ready to wear. Item # 205347
