Ancient Roman

Bronze annular pendant with circular decoration – Imperial Roman period Culture: Roman. Reference period: 2nd–4th centuries AD. Material: Cast bronze. Dimensions: 34 × 26 × 8 mm. Auction description: Interesting bronze annular pendant of Roman archaeological typology, characterized by its robust openwork circular frame and its upper suspension ring integrated into the body of the piece. The front surface features an attractive ornamental composition formed by three recessed circular motifs, distributed symmetrically around the central opening and bordered by geometric reliefs. Its design combines the functionality of a suspended element with the ornamental characteristics of small metal objects from Antiquity. Bronze pendants formed part of both personal adornment and the fittings of Roman horse tack, frequently incorporating geometric and circular elements. Its striking green archaeological patina stands out, with turquoise tones, ochre mineral deposits and surface concretions that give the piece a notable aesthetic presence. Condition: Good structural conservation, with complete suspension ring, visible ornamentation and abundant surface patina.
