Bronze ring with oval head and worn decoration – 1st–4th century AD A bronze ring with an integrated oval head and broad shoulders, retaining traces of circular or dotted marks on the upper surface. Wear and concretions prevent reliable reconstruction of the original design. Dark patina is partly covered by yellowish deposits extending onto the hoop. The outline is slightly irregular, with abrasion on exposed areas. The head and hoop have a continuous, compact appearance, with the upper face only moderately distinguished from the shoulders by its greater width. The surviving marks are fragmentary and vary in clarity from one view to another. Lighter deposits lie unevenly across the darker surface and should not be read as an intentional contrasting decoration. The ring is therefore presented through its oval outline, substantial shoulders and current surface condition, without reconstructing the design of its face. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 2 x 1.8 cm Weight: 2.53 gr Provenance: Aduired in Germany from an auction House, previously from a personal collection.
