Decorative bronze head of Diana or Artemis, executed as a modern replica after an ancient model. The goddess is depicted as a young woman with idealized, classically inspired facial features and an elaborately styled hairstyle. The face features calm, balanced modeling with a straight nose, closed mouth, and large, clearly defined eyes. The hair is particularly meticulously crafted: in strong, plastically modeled waves it is pulled back from the face and gathered there into a distinctly protruding hair knot. Above the forehead rises a crescent-shaped diadem, marking the portrayal as Diana/Artemis. The crescent moon is especially in Roman iconography one of the characteristic attributes of Diana and points to her connection with the moon and the nocturnal realm. The head transitions into a longer neck and ends at the bottom with a deliberately irregular break edge, creating the impression of a preserved fragment of an ancient statue or bust. The dark brown to greenish patination enhances this antiquarian character. The sculptural detailing of the wavy hair strands, the rear knot, and the diadem makes the head decorative also from the side and rear views. Good decorative condition with surface and patina traces. Offered as a modern replica, not as an ancient original. Mounted on a modern black plinth. Please note the photographs for the exact condition.
