Pendant in silvered metal encapsulated, for better preservation, with bronze follis minted between the years 348-361 during the reign of Constantius II as Emperor. Mint in Arles. It is linked to a modern silver 925 chain necklace. Obverse: bust facing right of Emperor Constantius II with a pearl diadem, draped tunic and cuirass. Reverse: a progressing Roman soldier spears an enemy barbarian horseman who falls from his horse and tries to defend himself. Inscription "FEL TEMP REPARATIO" - The restoration of happy times -. In this turbulent era, the message of optimism, stability and military strength was sought to be conveyed to the citizens. It ships with a sheet of legal declarations. Customs costs outside the EU will be borne by the auction winner.
