Small Bronze Anthropomorphic Termination with Human Head – Imperial Roman Art, 2nd–3rd centuries AD. Culture: Roman. Reference chronology: 2nd–3rd centuries AD. Material: Cast bronze. Measurements: 21 × 10 × 11 mm. Auction description: Interesting and tiny figurative bronze ornament, made in the shape of a three-dimensional human head, with expressive sculptural treatment and careful representation of the hairstyle. The head features clearly defined facial features, with a prominent forehead, straight nose, marked lips, and a pronounced chin. The treatment of the hair stands out, gathered back and framed by two braided bands that border the face, leaving the ears visible. The piece preserves a narrow, elongated lower extension, finished with a small circular perforation intended for fixing or articulating with another element. Its small size and the individualized rendering of facial features make this object an attractive example of small figurative metalwork within the tradition of anthropomorphic ornaments of the Roman world. The surface presents a beautiful ancient patina, with green, brown, and ochre tones that highlight the details of the modeling. Conservation status: Very good overall presence, with complete head, recognizable features, preserved hairstyle details, and perforated lower appendage.
