Ancient Roman

Roman Empire Bronze Lion-Shaped Appliqué – 1st to 3rd Century AD A bronze appliqué depicting a standing lion in a simplified, robust form. Deep diagonal grooves mark the mane, and the long tail curves away from the body. Both lower projections are pierced, indicating that the figure could be fastened to another object. Dark surface patination contrasts with lighter wear along the mane, legs and edges of the openings. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 3.7 x 2.8 cm Weight: 13.93 gr Provenance: Adquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026.
