Background Information: This Roman bronze finger ring features an oval bezel decorated with five carefully arranged ring-and-dot motifs, each consisting of a central dot surrounded by concentric circular grooves. This distinctive geometric decoration was widely employed in Roman metalwork and personal ornaments. Finger rings were common accessories throughout the Roman Empire, worn by both men and women. Beyond their decorative function, rings could express personal identity, social standing or individual preferences. Bronze examples provided a durable and relatively affordable alternative to jewellery made from precious metals, making them accessible to a broad section of Roman society. The ring-and-dot motif was a well-established decorative element in Roman craftsmanship, appearing on jewellery, brooches, belt fittings, bone objects and other everyday accessories. Its popularity reflected a shared ornamental tradition across the Roman provinces. Although such motifs may occasionally have carried symbolic associations, their precise meaning on this particular ring cannot be established. Roman bronze rings were manufactured by specialised craftsmen using established casting and finishing techniques. The circular decoration could be applied with simple metalworking tools, allowing craftsmen to create balanced geometric patterns. Comparable ornamental traditions were widespread across the Empire, including the provinces of Gaul, Germania and Britannia, encompassing parts of present-day France, Germany, the Netherlands and Britain."} }``` Oops the final includes extra braces?
