Roman bronze zoomorphic appliqué Roman Empire, ca. 1st–3rd centuries CE. An interesting Roman decorative element cast in bronze, configured as a highly stylized zoomorphic figure, possibly a winged creature or fantastical animal. The composition features an elongated body, a raised neck, and lateral extensions that recall wings or appendages, with distinct volumes modeled in relief. The piece retains an attractive dark green archaeological patina, with blackish and brownish areas, mineral deposits and surface wear produced by antiquity. The modeling sufficiently preserves the silhouette and several original details, although some areas show erosion and losses. Given its configuration it may have formed part of an appliqué, terminal or ornamental element of furniture, vessel or another bronze object, though its exact function cannot be determined from photography alone. Material: bronze / copper alloy. Chronology: Roman era, probably 1st–3rd centuries CE. Dimensions: 65 × 27 × 42 mm. Condition: wear, corrosion and encrustations in keeping with its age; small losses and erosions. Old well-developed green patina.
