Beaker in blown glass, free-blown, translucent to transparent pale blue. The cylindrical body, with slightly sagging shoulders, rests on a flattened base whose center, pressed inward, retains the pontil mark. The neck, slightly constricted, opens onto a flaring mouth with a rounded lip and folded outward. The body is adorned with several fine glass threads applied in relief, arranged in horizontal registers. The surface shows light earthy and whitish deposits in places, as well as a high concentration of air bubbles, both at the rim and on the body, resulting from its manufacture. - Roman Empire - Dimension: 90 x 70 x 70 mm - Dating: Probable between the 1st and 4th centuries AD - Provenance: From the V.A. collection, Maastricht, Netherlands. - Condition: Excellent condition, intact! - Parallels: Uncommon form. No strictly comparable parallels could be identified in the consulted bibliography.
