Ancient Roman Stones Roman dice - Roman stone dice - 1.1 cm (No reserve price)

A beautiful and very rare Late Roman stone die dating from approximately the 1st to the 3rd century AD. What is special about this die is that only the number 6 is inscribed on it and the remaining five faces are still blank. I have not seen this before myself! It is made of white stone that has acquired a slight discoloration from age and centuries buried underground. After the auction ends you can also pick up this die in Dordrecht if you wish. (This can be arranged almost any day by appointment...) If shipping is chosen, the object is packed very securely so that nothing can happen to it in transit.

Estimate:£126.47
