Boloria Pales Abstract Originalgemälde auf Leinwand – Acryl & Ölkreide – 90 × 60 cm Versand gerollt ohne Rahmen With "Boloria Pales Abstract" an expressive, large-format original painting, the figure of a butterfly is translated into a free, abstracted visual language. The work combines acrylic painting with drawing passages in oil chalk. Luminous orange, red and gold tones define the portrayal, while dark, spontaneously applied lines and planes create a tense contrast to the color-intensive image surface. The visible brushstrokes, overlaps and drawing interventions give the piece a deliberately immediate, lively effect. The title "Boloria Pales" refers to the high-alpine or Pales checkers butterfly (Boloria pales). It is less about a scientifically exact depiction than about an artistic interpretation of its characteristic form. The butterfly becomes the starting point for an autonomous composition between concreteness and abstraction. Historically, the work can be placed in the tradition of Expressionism and informal/gestural abstraction. As in these movements, the foreground is not the most accurate reproduction of the visible world, but the emotional impact of color, line, movement and materiality. The combination of painterly and drawing elements also recalls the dissolution of classical boundaries between painting and drawing, which was increasingly practiced, especially in 20th-century art.
