All auctions / Porcelain & Pottery / Andy Smith North Carolina Signed Flattened Lenticular Ceramic Vase

This stoneware vase by North Carolina potter Andy Smith features a flattened lenticular or teardrop form. The piece is finished with a two-tone mottled glaze, transitioning from a warm golden-yellow at the top to a deep reddish-brown toward the base. The surface exhibits a fine, granular orange peel texture characteristic of atmospheric firing processes such as salt or soda firing. The body tapers elegantly into a slender, slightly flared neck and a narrow mouth. The unglazed base bears an incised cursive signature for Andy Smith along with a handwritten NC notation. A circular white provenance sticker is present on the base, reading Rubin Collection with NC in the center.
