Antieke handbeschilderde petroleum-/olielamp met floraal glazen reservoir – ca

Antique hand-painted petroleum/oil lamp – circa 1890–1910 – 65 cm Beautiful and imposing antique petroleum/oil lamp, presumably dating from around 1890–1910. A particularly decorative piece with a richly worked metal base, tall marbled column, and a nicely hand-painted glass oil reservoir. The bulb-shaped reservoir is made of light green, textured glass with a striking relief-like pattern. The glass is hand-painted with a large white/cream-colored flower, presumably an iris, with subtle gray and gold-brown accents and long green leaves. The combination of the distinctive glass and the floral painting gives the lamp an elegant appearance characteristic of the period around 1900. The tall central column has a warm brown marbled look and is framed at the top and bottom by richly decorated metal surrounds. Especially striking is the heavy square base on four feet. It is richly adorned with cast floral ornaments, scroll motifs, and relief decorations. Above the reservoir sits the complete metal petroleum burner with a wick control wheel and a delicate open-work gallery. The lamp is completed by a long, clear glass chimney. Condition The lamp is in exceptionally beautiful, complete, and intact condition. The glass reservoir is intact and the hand-painted decoration has been excellently preserved. The glass chimney is also intact. The burner and wick regulator are fully present. The metal parts carry a natural ageing patina that suits the lamp’s age and authentic character. No cracks or breaks. Dimensions * Height without the glass chimney: approx. 41 cm * Total height including glass chimney: approx. 65 cm A particularly lovely and decorative antique oil lamp from the period around 1900. Thanks to the hand-painted textured glass, the imposing height, and the richly decorated base, this is an attractive lamp for both collectors and enthusiasts of antique interior pieces. The photos form an integral part of the description and give a good impression of the excellent condition and the fine details of this lamp. Due to the glass components, the lamp will be packed very carefully and securely for shipping.
