For centuries, the seductive red glowing garnets have been used to make jewellery of all kinds. The form of garnet jewelry that we most associate with this stone today - stars, flowers and other shapes, densely studded with countless garnets - developed in the middle of the 19th century and quickly became a public favorite. This garnet bangle from the end of the 19th century is a typical example of this type of garnet jewelry. The surface of the bangle is completely set with sparkling, deep red garnets. The design widens towards the top and features a two-tiered, diamond-shaped decorative element. The stones come from the classic discovery areas of Bohemia and are characterized by their exceptionally rich, warm colour intensity. Typical of the period, the stones are set in tombac, which is completely unobtrusive on the display side. As the garnets are set on small silver foils, the stones reflect the incident light in a particularly intense way. Nothing distracts from the gemstones, creating a magnificent band of red reflections. The hoop came to us here in Berlin.
