Two lavender-colored amethysts form the setting of this pendant from Great Britain. The gemstones are bordered by small leaves with pearl trimmings and framed by delicate gold bars. The pendant almost looks like a nostalgic flying kite and brings back memories of carefree childhood days. The pendant is a typical British design, which shows the influence of continental Art Nouveau. There had been no war in Europe for a long time and industrialization had also increased the prosperity of the non-aristocratic upper and middle classes. This also increased the need for jewellery, which naturally had to match the latest wardrobe. Gold jewelry set with colored stones or pearls was worn in particular with daywear, which often consisted of a fitted costume consisting of a long skirt, fitted jacket and elegantly draped blouse. The pendant came to us from London, and it was also made in Great Britain. Its date is also confirmed by the use of 15-karat gold, which was only used until 1932. We have added a matching, fine gold chain to the pendant.
