Antique Tile - The Great Flood and Noah's Ark - Antique - 1750-1800

This is an antique Dutch Bible tile (Delft blue) depicting the Flood and Noah's Ark, made in the 18th century, around 1780. Within the medallion you can see Noah's Ark on the water beneath a heavy rain-filled sky with rain falling, together with drowning or desperate people and figures in the foreground. We can just barely see the tip of a church tower to show how high the water stood. The tile has had a small chip restored on the bottom right, otherwise in a beautiful original condition.

Estimate:£2.52
