Antonibon - Giovan Battista Antonibon - Figure - Pavone Antonibon - Ceramic

Splendid majolica ceramic sculpture depicting a peacock, entirely molded and hand-painted. This refined piece of art dates back to the mid-19th century and bears the signature of the famous Antonibon manufactory of Nove (Vicenza), one of the most prestigious and historic ceramic firms in the Italian tradition. The animal is captured in a proud and naturalistic pose, perched on a stylized tree trunk that serves as the base. The artistic quality stands out for the extraordinary application of high-fired colors: a deep, brilliant cobalt blue envelops the peacock's neck and chest, blending into a vibrant contrast with the ochre, gold, and greens that adorn the dense plumage and the magnificent gathered tail. At the base, the piece features the famous six-pointed star mark accompanied by the letters "G.B.", a monogram historically linked to the evolutions of the historic Vicentine manufactory. A collectible piece of great visual impact, perfect for enriching eclectic interiors, 20th-century art-ceramics collections, or for lovers of high-end Italian vintage design. Slight signs of time and wear clearly visible in the photos. Photos as an integral part of the lot description. Shipped insured and traceable.
