Antoon van Hemert (1883-1944) - Winter in de polder

Antoon Willem Joseph Marie van Hemert (also written without “van”), born in 1883 in Den Bosch and died in 1944 in Utrecht. Painter, watercolorist, draughtsman, pastel artist, etcher, lithographer, wall painter, and from 1909 for a short time the director of a printing house. Education: Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He lived and worked in Den Bosch, Amsterdam, Amersfoort, and Utrecht. Antoon van Hemert painted, drew and etched landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and Christian religious subjects. He was a member of the Vereniging Sint Lucas (Amsterdam) and Arti et Amicitiae (Amsterdam).
