About the artist: Apset, born in Thessaloniki in 1984, is a key figure in street art, whose work has left a mark on the urban scene in Greece and beyond. Involved in graffiti culture since 1998, he founded the group Agb-2g with his friends in the heart of Thessaloniki. His art is distinguished by striking portraits, a unique use of color, and an innovative graphical approach. His name, an anagram of his first name Stelios (Ste-Set), reflects his conceptual approach. After studying graphic design in Thessaloniki and an internship in Warsaw, he trained in several artistic disciplines, from sculpture to video, including engraving and drawing. A graduate of the Aristotle University School of Fine Arts, Apset collaborated with Pacific Décor for the design of amusement parks in Greece and participated in major festivals such as the Thessaloniki Street Art Festival and Boarding Pass in Chalkidiki. Over the years, he evolved in his practice, moving away from tags to focus on realistic figures and 3D portraits, his true signature. He draws inspiration from daily life, the city of Thessaloniki, graphic art, and even fashion. His vibrant and powerful works question society, culture, and the human condition, while offering a striking aesthetic vision. Selected exhibitions: 2024: “Urban Myths,” G.E. Kapopoulos, Mika Papamichail, Municipal gallery, Mykonos. 2024: “OverLoaded,” Mika Papamichail Cream Athens - T.A.F., Athens. 2024: “Latin American & Local,” Delirium urban art gallery, Athens. 2022: “Familiar Faces,” Delirium urban art gallery, Athens. 2022: “Osmosis,” conceptual art subject, Bensounsan han, Thessaloniki. 2021: “Neocratia,” Achetez de l‘Art gallery, curated by Mika Papamichail, Paris, France. 2017: “The Art of Painting,” Urban Art, Amsterdam, Holland. 2014: “No Respect,” Onassis Stegi, Athens. 2012: “On the Blocks,” Vamiali’s Gallery, Metaxourgio, Athens.
